Upheaval.

Working on some sketches, busy with work and such. Expect more soon.
In the mean time, here's a little snap.
July 2012.

Kindling.

Went camping over the weekend with a group of friends, doodled this by the campfire.
Black ink.

Untitled.

I'm not sure what to say this piece, other than the obvious. It shows a fancy renaissance lady throwing up that good ol' gang symbol. Lovely.

Black ink, coloured marker. 9x11.

6/7/12

Bogus Bourgeois.

Newest painting, acrylic, 24 inches by 24 inches.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm going to create some sort of feminist/anti-feminist art set, if so this will be part of it. But as of now, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Montreal.

Recently took the photos above in Montreal, Quebec. All film (Fisheye Holga camera)

Self.

I can't think of an original title because it's 1 in the morning, I'm exhausted and I just finished this.
It's a pretty basic self portrait but the squiggles in my hair look like Mr. Noodles so I like it.
Black ink.

Mesophase.

Newest painting, commission piece.
The title is "Mesophase", which is a physics term used to describe a state of matter between a liquid and a solid.
Acrylic, 24 inches by 24 inches.

Thankfully classes are now over, meaning I can get a lot more artwork done this summer.

Coachella Shirt #2.

2nd commissioned Coachella shirt - this one is featuring Thom Yorke from Radiohead.
Hand painted on a cotton shirt.

Coachella Shirt #1

Hey there!

I've been super slack with art lately. I'm a full time student and am working about 30 hours a week, so haven't had much time for production. However, classes are almost over so I'm (thankfully) getting back into it! Anyhoo, here's a quick shirt I painted for a friend going to Coachella next week, the music festival in California. "LA Woman" is inspired by the song by The Doors.
Expect more soon, planning on doing a lot more art as soon as I can.

Submit to The Continuist.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before (if not, I really should have) but I'm an editor for an art zine at Ryerson University called the Continuist. Basically, what we provide is a means for up and coming artists of all kinds (visual arts, music, writing, photography, you name it) to get published.
If you are at Ryerson University, or live in Toronto, or even the GTA, send us your stuff - we want to publish you on our website as well as in a hard copy publication of our zine.
Submit to thecontinuist@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions for our 3rd zine of the year is March 30th.

PS - I made the graphic above as a poster. C'mon - who can't help but to give into that mug?

3/4/12

Patti Cake, Part 3.

Final commission for the Toronto based band Patti Cake (very delayed) - a cute, simple little Ghost cat t-shirt design for their band merch. Super honoured that I got to work with them :)

3/2/12

Sketch #1.

I'm going to try to start sketching more. I never actually practice anything art related, just work piece by piece. I figure it'd be a good way to improve.
Sketch #1, Devon.
Drew this while on the train, took about 20 minutes.

Featured video about my art!

Hey guys,

My friend Ryan Parker is quite the film student. He created a video profiling my work as an artist. Click the link below to watch me throw some canvases around.

Monstrosities.

I decided to go out on a limb and work with a new material - leather! Painted a leather guitar strap for my boyfriend for Valentine's day using Angelus paint (from turtle feathers.net) - was a bit of a process, but the final product turned out pretty nice!

Hello!

Or as J.D. puts it, "Greetings and salutations" -- If you're taking the time to read my blog, thanks a bundle! I'm still rummaging around through old pieces to post, but hopefully from now on most will be new.
